Texas Highland Lakes Unit Rallies
A rally is an organized RV stay of several days duration, ...staying together as a group at pre-reserved parks... and usually focused on a theme. Reservations usually must be made weeks in advance. Airstream rallies can be anywhere in North America. THLU rallies are usually in central Texas.
Rallies are a great way to meet your fellow unit members.

Two reservations are often required for each rally.

PARK RESV NOTE: As usual, you're responsible for making your own reservations with the park. I've been told by Bobbi, park manager, that the cancellation policy is no less than 24 hours prior to arrival and a $20 fee if you're outside that 24-hour period. However, if you're concerned about possibly cancelling, check with the park yourself to make sure you receive the same policy.

RALLY NOTE: Awesome resort with concrete pads that’s rebuilding quickly following Hurricane Harvey. Lots of retirees here and full-timers. Great rally room, coffee and breakfast shop, and indoor swimming pool. Lots to do in Rockport; you may want to plan another extended stay!
The park is setting aside one-half of a huge rally room for us, with a kitchen, so don't worry about the weather if it turns out we have some rain that weekend. There's also a great indoor swimming pool adjoining the rally room. This park is pretty awesome! For those who don't have their rig, the park has cabins for rent so don't let that hold you back from going. I know Rockport is a long way from Central Texas, so plan to travel with another rig or two down and back. It's always better to travel with friends!
We're planning an evening on the Copano Bay beach side of the island (best sunsets) with a food truck for dinner. Also, Diane Probst with the Chamber will give us a program related to the cleanup post-Harvey (Diane promised this to Cheri when THLU made our donation to the Chamber last Christmas). The location we're looking at for the beach sunset dinner has a put-in for kayaks. If someone wants to coordinate some kayaking, that'd be nice. Also, if someone wants to look into a boat ride/fishing venture, that'd be fun. I'm also going to call another friend there to see about a birding adventure. Another friend used to office at the Bay Education Center;
